Trademark Renewal — Never Let a Valuable Mark Lapse.
A trademark registration lasts 10 years — but it doesn't renew itself. We track the expiry date and file the renewal in time, every cycle.
Contact UsA trademark registration is valid for 10 years from the date of application (or an earlier priority date, where claimed), and must be renewed to continue in force — renewal can be filed up to one year before expiry, or within six months after expiry with a surcharge, after which the mark is at risk of being removed from the Register altogether if renewal still isn't filed.
A removed mark isn't necessarily lost forever — restoration can be sought within a further window after removal, but this is a more involved and costly process than a straightforward renewal, and there's no guarantee of restoration, especially if a third party has since filed for a similar mark.
Given how far in advance renewal can be filed, and how costly a lapse can be for a mark that's been built into real brand value, we track renewal dates proactively for every registered mark under our management and file well ahead of expiry rather than waiting for a last-minute deadline.
